Manchester City's Phil Foden was chosen as the best footballer of the year by footballers, and Cole Palmer of Chelsea was the best young footballer.
Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden was recognized for his outstanding performance. The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) awarded him the Footballer of the Year. City's forward Khadija Shaw has achieved this recognition among girls.
It was a double recognition for both of them for their performances last season.
Earlier, both of them were Football Writers Association of the Year.
Reacting to winning the award, Foden said the achievement was something special for him.
This time, Foden has beaten teammates Holland and Rodri, Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Arsenal's Martin Odegor and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins in the battle for the best. Foden won the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
From there he quickly won the main prize.
The 24 - year - old Foden performed brilliantly last season. He scored 27 goals in 53 matches in all competitions as Manchester City won their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
With this, City's footballer has won the PFA Player of the Year four times in the last five seasons.
Kevin De Bruyne won in 2020 and 2021, Arling Holland last year.
Khadisha Shaw, who was recognized as the best of the girls, scored 21 goals for City in the Women's Super League last season. The Jamaican forward was 8 goals ahead of his nearest rival in the list of top goalscorers.
Besides, Cole Palmer won the best young footballer award. Among the girls, the award went to Tottenham Hotspur's Grace Clinton.
