Peru-Chile draw broke 20-year record

 Peru-Chile draw broke 20-year record

The Copa America match between Peru and Chile ended in a goalless draw. After 20 years, a match between Peru and Chile ended in a draw.  The last Peru-Chile match was a goalless draw in 1989. In this draw, these two teams kept their chances well in Group A.

In the second match of the Copa America earlier today (June 22) in Group 'A' in Texas, neither team managed to score. The two Latin American countries have to be satisfied with a point from a goalless draw.

Peru started the match with power in Texas and kept Chile under pressure at the beginning. But it didn't take long for Chile to turn around.

In the 16th minute of the match, Alexis Sanchez missed the easiest chance despite receiving the ball alone in the goal from Victor Davila's cross.   In the 20th minute, Peru's Edison Flores' long-range shot failed to find the target. In the 27th minute, Chile's Victor Davila's header went just wide. Both teams went into the break with a draw.

Chile is ahead in possession of the ball in the second half as well. Pedro Galise blocked Davila's shot in the 62nd minute. Peru got their best chance of the match in the 79th minute. Lapadula's volley was brilliantly blocked by Chile's Claudio Bravo. Both teams have to be satisfied with the draw.

Chile also dominated Peru in attacking and creating chances throughout the match. Chile took 11 shots with 65 percent possession of the ball in the match. But managed to keep only one shot on target. Peru, on the other hand, had 35 percent of the ball and had 7 shots and 4 on target.

Next Wednesday, Chile will play their next match against Argentina. In another match on the same day, Peru will face Canada.
