Germany's Euro begins with a goal festival

Germany's Euro begins with a goal festival

Recent times have not been very good for Germany. There has been a shortage of strikers who can spread fear in the goal for quite a long time. In the last few World Cups, they could not pass the group stage. This time also in the Euros they have kept Kai Hervatz in the role of the main striker, who is basically an attacking midfielder. In recent times, however, attacking midfielders have been the cause of fear in Germany.

Two young midfielders, Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musialai, shone for Germany on the opening day of the Euros. Kai Hervatz also started the mission with a goal. Substitute striker Niklas Fulkrug also found the back of the net. On their day of such great performances, Scotland literally flew away. Lucky got a suicide goal. Host Germany started this year's Euro with a 5-1 victory.

Scotland coach Steve Clarke tried to play the team low-block against strong Germany. The 5-man defense showed that the Scottish wanted to play a bit more careful football. But he was not very successful in that attempt. Instead, they are afraid. It took Germany a total of 10 minutes to break the deadlock. Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz scored Germany's first goal from Joshua Kimmich's pass.

The 21-year-old midfielder is the youngest opener for Germany at the Euros. Jamal Musiala joined the tide of youth after a while.   Musiala scored a goal in the Euro at 21 years and 109 days. This is the first time in Euro history that two players aged 21 or under have scored in the same match.

The game was becoming very one-sided, it was understood in these twenty minutes. The score was 3-0 just before the break. Scotland's Porteous received a red card for a foul on German captain Ilkay Gundowan. Germany gets a penalty. Havertz took the penalty. Spotki did not miss the goal.

In the second half, however, Scotland did better in defense than in the first half. Germany had to wait until 68 minutes to get the 4th goal. Fulkrug proved his goalscoring ability as a substitute. In the 87th minute, Scotland's McKenna headed off Germany's Antonio Rudiger and into the net, an own goal to make it 4-1. Emre Can made it 5-1 to Germany in stoppage time.
