Conte returns to Serie A as Napoli coach
Antonio Conte returns to Serie A after three years as coach. After being unemployed for the past year, he has taken over as the coach of former Serie A champion Napoli.
Conte has taken over as Napoli coach on a three-year deal. The 54-year-old left the role of coach of Tottenham Hotspurs in 2021 by mutual consent.
Conte took a break to take a break from the pressures of top-level football coaching. "Napoli is a place that has global appeal," said the coach who won the Premier League title for Chelsea. I am happy and excited to be on the bench in the blue jersey. I promise one thing: I will try my best to improve the team and this club. My commitment, joint efforts with my staff, will bring results.'

Napoli won the Serie A title after a long time under Luciano Spalletti in the last 2022-23 season. He left the role of coach at the end of the season. Then at the beginning of the current season, Al Nasr coach Rudy Garcia took over as Napoli coach. But he had to leave the post in November. Then Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona took charge of the team one by one. Napoli finished tenth out of 20 teams in Serie A last season.
Conte, who previously coached Atalanta, Juventus and Inter Milan in Serie A, is facing a big challenge in Napoli. He did not find any of these clubs in a state of disarray. But Napoli have changed four coaches since winning the league title last season. Also, the biggest star of the team, Victor Asimhen, may leave the club at the end of this season. In that case, the strength of the party will decrease even more. He will get as much as 100 million euros to buy players of his choice. The challenge of organizing the team within that budget is in front of him.
After taking charge of Napoli, Conte is still not meeting the players. Most of the players will be busy playing Euro and Copa America for the country at this time. Conte will meet the players when pre-season preparations begin in July after the Euro and Copa America.
